I found this film-documentary about the history of Modern Art very interesting and insightful. It was filmed in 1974 and many modern artists were still alive at that time. We see interviews or footages of: Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Roy Liechtenstein, and many others. A pure delight!
The fact that it dates back to 1977 is interesting in itself because it shows a particular understanding of Modern Art that is neither too old nor too modern (so to speak). The discussion about what the by-then new modern artists (the young generation of the 70s) were producing is particularly enlightening and intriguing at the same time.
All in all, it is an enjoyable, interesting and insightful documentary.
